Natural Remedy for Anxiety

What actually Anxiety is?

From time to time it is part of life to feel anxious but that doesn't mean you have be anxious all time and apparently without any reasons.But if you feel that way that anxious all the time for nothing and worried always which in turn effects your day to day life then I am sorry to say you will generalized for having anxiety disorder.

Restlessness, always tense, on the edge, can not concentrate, irritation all the time and more, all of these suggests nothing but signs of anxiety.

People always tend to get unwell physically  and shows sickness like headache, muscle tension, jaw pain, sleeping disorder, indigestion, excessive sweating , bloating, tightness of the body and many more. If you do start showing symptoms like this, you must consult with your doctor ( if you are unwell badly). If you have faith on natural remedy then please do try some home remedy before getting addicted to tablets given by doctors.

Natural Remedies for Anxiety

Anxiety is a very sensitive issue. If allowed anxiety can turn into long term issue and cause even more than you bargained for.

1) Passion Flower:

Long long ago Passion flower was introduced as a  (Passiflora incarnata) folk remedy for insomnia and also anxiety.

There are two research conducted including 198 people just to figure out the effectiveness Passion Flower . One of the study came to a conclusion and  compared it to benzodiazepine drugs. Improved in performance associated  passionflower and less drowsiness compared with the medical drug mexazolam. That wasn't something significant later on for a conclusive conclusion.

Passionflower may show some side effect including nausea, drowsiness, vomiting and rapid heartbeat. Other than that passionflower in pregnant women, children, people suffering from kidney or liver disease has not been proved. There are five reports in Norway that people becoming short time basis impaired mentally after using a collection of  product associated with passionflower. It's unknown that something else was involved with passion flower in those cases.

It is suggested that Passionflower should not be consumed with sedatives unless  supervised by the doctor. There is a chance Passionflower may increase the effect of pentobarbital, a medication used for sleep and seizure disorders.

2) Bodywork:

Exercise or you can body message has always helped in relaxation and reduce muscle stress and help you to get tired and go to sleep.

Body message is getting popular everywhere now these days. It can be found as a service in a parlour for a small price. But the effect is vast and without even you knowing will help you to get better to reduce your anxiety.

3) Body & Mind Techniques:

Mind is the key for everything. If you can keep it occupied on something else the the better response you will get on your anxiety.Breathing exercises help your body/mind, physical exercise of any kind, early morning yoga, tai chi, self-hypnosis or hypnosis of any type, meditation are most usual process for stress reduction techniques helpful for anxiety. Whichever suits you will do the trick and try to maintain a strict routine to get out of it.

Some Breathing techniques also works better in anxiety. If you can adapt and practise you can have easiest way of controlling it.

4) Valerian:

Valerian is a herb (Valeriana officinalis) also well known as insomnia herbal remedy. It is used in patients with anxiety which one is mild in nature. Till today it hasn't been able to establish a concrete connection  to prove its usefulness in getting rid of anxiety.

There was  four-week study to make a comparison between valerian and the medication diazepam (Valium).  36 people were associated in this experiment where all of them were generalized anxiety disorder.Strangely there wasn't strong conclusive evidence suggesting any difference between both of them. But it could be due to a small sample size group.

Valerian is normally take an hour before bed and usually takes about two to three weeks to work. At any point you can not use this for more than three month before taking a long good break. You may face some difficulties as side effect which could include mild indigestion, headache, palpitations, and dizziness. Valerian is also available in form of tea but usually people don't like it and they tend to go for tablet or capsule form more often.

Valerian must not be take if you are under heavy medication, especially those that depress the central nervous system, which are sedatives and antihistamines in nature. It is also suggested that Valerian must not be taken with alcohol, before or after surgery or anyone suffering liver disease. It is also advised that it not good to use before driving or if you are about to work with heavy machinery. Consultation  is recommended.

5) Kava

The herb know as kava (Piper methysticum) has been found to have effects in humans for anti-anxiety .

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)issued a general advisory to consumers about the potential risk of severe liver injury resulting from the use of dietary supplements containing kava. Till today there have been over 25 reports of serious adverse effect of kava. There is also report came to light that using kava cause 4 people going under surgery for  lever replacement.

6) Gamma ,aminobutyric Acid (GABA):

GABA is a type of amino acid which is known to play a vital role in the physiology of anxiety. Prescribed drugs for anxiety (some of them) work by affecting GABA receptors in the brain. It is unclear that at what level you have to intake it for it to be geeting in your brain.

7) Aromatherapy:

A simple relaxing bath with plant essential oils, massage oil, or infusers works like a charm for anti anxiety. Essential oils used for anti-anxiety and nervous tension are: bergamot, cypress, geranium, jasmine, lavender, melissa, neroli, rose, sandalwood, ylang-ylang. Lavender, the most common and popular, forms the base of many relaxing blends.
