Halitosis is the term used for describing bad breath.In real halitosis means unpleasant odors.In a survey it was found that bad breath was the third most reason to visit a dentist.So if you can treat it at home then why paying the dentist? The condition of halitosis, or bad breath, has affected mankind for hundreds of years. To overcome bad breath, the ancient Greeks reputedly used natural home remedies like rinsing with white wine, anise seed, and myrrh, while the Italians mixed up a mouthwash of sage, cinnamon, juniper seeds, root of cypress, and rosemary leaves, according to the Academy of General Dentistry.


There are many reasons for bad breath.The main reason is failure to maintain a good oral health like you go to bed after dinner without brushing your teeth.You have no idea how much damaging it is in long term.It is like invitation to treat for bacteria ,come and destroy me. There are other reasons Like food,smoking,dry mouth,medical conditions,gum diseases,sinus conditions,mouth,dental decay etc..

Food is one of the main reason for bad breath on a day to day basis.Due to consuming certain food like garlic,onion,cheese,meat,fish,alcohol and smoking.As mouth is exposed to very less oxygen and absolutely inactive during the night, the odor is usually worse upon awakening ("morning breath"). Bad breath may be transient, often disappearing following eating, brushing one's teeth, flossing, or rinsing with specialized mouthwash.

Honesty is the best policy.So to be honest before you try anything else the best thing you need to do for yourself is brush your teeth at least twice a day after meals.Also if possible rinse your mouth every time you had some taster food.While brushing lease make sure you pay attention to all the places which includes your gum and tongue not only teeth.Brushing your tongue will make sure you don't leave bacteria behind.Use a tongue scraper if possible.

It helps cure bleeding from gums and stops bad breath. Chewing tender leaves of guava tree also stops bleeding from gums and bad breath.

In accordance with traditional Chinese medicine, bitter foods, for example Belgian endive and many dark green leafy vegetables are also believed to help stomach heat. Particular foods, such as coffee, alcohol, sugar, milk and fried or spicy foods are believed to aggravate the problem.
