Home Remedies of Kidney Stones

Kidney beans

In any kidney problems, including kidney and bladder Kidney beans are very effective in the treatment of any kind. Simply remove the beans from inside the pods and then boil them in hot water. After the beans are soft and tender strain the liquid and then allow to cool down.Drink it several times throughout the day as it will give you relief from the Kidney stone pain. Do not keep it for more than 24 hours as it will lose it value through time. You can also try Kidney beans in the form of  soup or salad.

Water melon

Carbonates, calcium and magnesium phosphates, potassium are heavily available in the water melon. All this ingredients helps in kidney stones treatment and maintaining a healthy kidney. It also helps maintaining a required level of acid in the urine. Along with the chemicals watermelon also posses a good amount of water which in turn helps flushing out the stones fro kidney. All in all with kidney stones or not water melon helps you to have a good health.

Less vitamin "C"

More than 3,000 milligrams per day of vitamin C tend to form kidney stones.So vitamin C is a potential problem. This is because the body converts vitamin C to vitamin oxalate. If you had a kidney stone, then your safest bet is not high-dose vitamin C through suppliments. Vitamin C is essential - Recommended Dietary Allowance of 90 mg a day for men and  75 milligrams a day for women, So do not try to go without it. You best option is through your daily diet.

Less certain Fish and Meat

Uric acid stones are usually attracts those people who eat foods high in animal protein. Uric acid and calcium from meat accelerate formation of kidney stones. So try to moderate your intake of meat.

You also need to be aware of foods high in purine. Some of these foods are anchovies, fish roe, herring, mackerel, mussels, sardines, and shrimp. Also other foods high in purine are beer, brain, heart, kidneys, liver, sweetbreads, and wine.

Regular exercise allows the calcium in the bloodstream to move out into bones. The result is stronger bones and less risk of stone formation. You have one more reason to lace up those walking shoes if necessary, think of the pain of a kidney stone.It can be a great motivator to start.


You are suffering from kidney stones, you should drink plenty of water. Along with other types of fluid you drink, plain water consumed should be eight to ten glasses. The color of your urine gives a good sign that it is all good. It is recommended to drink mineral water as this water is free from sediments. Thus it will help to reduce the concentrations of uric acid and calcium in the urine.It will also stop the kidney stones to grow if you already have one.

Lemon juice

Lemon contains citric acid which breaks calcium-based kidney stones.It also stops the growth of the stones. Two or three times a day, drink a glass of water with lemon juice (few drops). When you drink lemonade, the volume of urination will also increase which is really good for the kidneys.

Whole wheat bread

Whole grain bread items can help a lot lowering the risk of kidney stones. Whole grain breads, includes a  rich source of nutrients, fiber and protein and magnesium. Kidney stones in the crystal structure in the kidney can be prevented from growing by mineral magnesium. So if you are suffering from kidney stone, taking daily piece of whole wheat bread (two or three pieces) will prevent your stones to grow. Along with bread one must also eat whole grain cereals, pasta and so on to increase the intake of fiber and other nutrients.
